ATLANTA — Police have made an arrest in a shooting that left a man dead on Thursday afternoon.
The shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Joseph E Boone Blvd. Channel 2′s Tom Regan reported live from the scene on Channel 2 Action News at 5 p.m.

Authorities said they found a man with a gunshot wound to his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name has not been released.

From the view of NewsChopper 2, the scene appeared to be in front of a building that has a neighborhood market and dry cleaner.
NewsChopper 2 showed police tape blocking off the street for hours during the investigation.
Terrence Heard, 49, was taken into custody. Police said homicide investigators have arrested Heard for murder and possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony.
Investigators are working to learn what led up to the shooting.
