Iconic Manuel’s Tavern gets temporary exterior for film shoot

ATLANTA — If you were driving down North Highland Ave. and thought you saw a new restaurant in the place of Atlanta’s iconic Manuel’s Tavern, don’t worry: It’s temporary.

Manuel’s Tavern has temporarily been transformed into Queso’s Mexican Food for a film shoot, the bar and restaurant announced on social media.

“The changes are freaking people out ... Do not worry, it’s all temporary,” the post read.

Manny’s will be open Tuesday and reopen on Thursday at 11 a.m. for regular business.

“The phone rang and rang and rang yesterday with people asking questions. Manuel’s hasn’t closed, Manuel’s has not sold. We will be back to being Manuel’s on Saturday morning,” the post said.

To celebrate the short-lived facade, they will be selling “Stanley Style Tacos” through Friday.
