‘Immersive’ gaming, entertainment bar opens up on Atlanta’s west side

ATLANTA — Looking for a fun, new group outing in Atlanta?

A new escape room and bar called Beat the Bomb offers a multitude of things that it hopes will attract customers to its brand-new location on Atlanta’s Upper West Side.

According to a news release, “1-hour Mission Experience” teams suit up in hazmat gear before dodging lasers and cracking codes to disarm locks.

The games will feature touch screens, motion sensors, RFID technology, projection walls, and lasers with unique games that test communication, coordination and agility.

“Atlantans have high standards for entertainment, and we are ready to deliver something that will truly blow them away,” said CEO and founder Alex Patterson.

The 10,000-square-foot space the business will operate out of is owned by Jamestown, developer of Ponce City Market. The property features 10 game rooms, a beer garden, and a bar offering food and drinks, according to the release.

The company says it’s the world’s first immersive social video game company. The company’s first location challenge is located in Brooklyn, New York, which opened in 2017.
