Innocent bystander injured in double shooting outside Atlanta Krispy Kreme

ATLANTA — Two people are recovering from being shot in front of a doughnut shop.

The double shooting occurred at 633 Evans Street, which is the address for Krispy Kreme across the street from the West End Mall, just before 12:30 p.m.

Investigators say one of the victims got into an argument with a group of men. At some point during the argument, members from that group began firing, hitting the man they were arguing with and another man who was not involved.

Police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that both men were shot in the leg.

It was not clear if the shooting happened inside or outside the business. On Channel 2 Action News at Noon, NewsChopper 2 could see a large area blocked off by crime scene tape.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and are currently stable.

The identities and the ages of the victims have not been released.

Police have not released details on possible suspects.
