ATLANTA — A Twitter firestorm continues this Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

It involves Donald Trump and Rep. John Lewis' criticism of the president-elect.

Trump called out Lewis' district as crime infested, and falling apart.

They're using the #defendthe5th, as in Rep. Lewis' 5th District which comprises most of Atlanta.

In an interview that will air on one of the Sunday talk shows, Lewis says he doesn't see Donald Trump as a legitimate president and that the Russians helped him get elected.

Lewis says he will boycott his inauguration this week.

In response, Trump tweeted Saturday morning that Rep. Lewis should "spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results."

He also said Lewis is all talk and no action.

That sparked outrage among some in Atlanta and triggered an invitation from a Fulton County's top leader.

"But we certainly do have problems and challenges like any other urban place around the country. So i think he needs to come here, and see what's here the good, and what opportunities are,” Fulton County Chairman John Eaves said.

Later Saturday night, Trump softened his criticism a little.

With a new tweet saying Lewis should finally focus on the burning and crime-infested inner-cities of the U.S.
