ATLANTA — Another round of storms is moving into north Georgia Thursday after a beautiful start to the week.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Ashley Kramlich says an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will slowly move onshore, bringing several waves of storms throughout the day that will linger into Friday.
Kramlich says most of the metro and south of I-20 remain under a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather. A Level 2 out of 5 threat has been issued for south Troup County over into Upson County.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Rounds of storms will build in later this afternoon and into the evening.
- The heaviest rain looks to move across the metro between 4-10 PM.
- Damaging winds and heavy rain are the main concerns, with an isolated brief weak spin-up tornado possible.
