Thunderstorms move across metro Atlanta Sunday

Severe weather risk for Sunday, August 6, 2023

ATLANTA — As severe weather moves across metro Atlanta on Sunday, Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Ashley Kramlich says there is a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather for all of north Georgia and a Level 2 risk in northwest Georgia.

6:31 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southeastern Carroll County, southwestern Douglas County, and southwestern Fulton County until 7:00 pm.

6:00 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Paulding County, northeastern Haralson County, northeastern Carroll County, northwestern Douglas County, eastern Polk County, and southwestern Bartow County until 6:45 pm.

5:41 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for central Upson County and northeastern Talbot County until 6:15 pm.

5:32 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Haralson County, Carroll County, Heard County, southwestern Coweta County, and western Polk County until 6:15 pm.

5:28 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for northeastern Floyd County, central Whitfield County, eastern Walker County, northwestern Gordon County, and northeastern Chattooga County until 6:15 pm.

5:24 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Meriwether County, Pike County, northwestern Upson County, northwestern Talbot County, and northwestern Harris County until 6:00 pm.

5:14 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southwestern Floyd County, northwestern Polk County, and western Chattooga County until 6:00 pm.

5:06 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Fayette County, northeastern Meriwether County, and southeastern Coweta County until 5:45 pm.

4:55 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for western Walker County, Dade County, and northwestern Chattooga County until 5:45 pm.

4:53 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southeastern Upson County, western Crawford County, eastern Talbot County, and northern Taylor County until 5:45 pm.

4:51 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Meriwether County, Troup County, and northwestern Harris County until 5:30 pm.

4:31 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Heard County, northeastern Troup County, and southwestern Coweta County until 5:15 pm.

3:53 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for northwestern Monroe County, Butts County, southwestern Jasper County and central Lamar County until 4:30 pm.

3:39 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Paulding County, northeastern Haralson County, northwestern Cobb County, northeastern Carroll County, northwestern Douglas County, eastern Polk County, and Bartow County until 4:30 pm.

3:37 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Spalding County, Pike County, southeastern Henry County, west central Butts County, and northwestern Lamar County until 4:15 pm.

3:22 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for southeastern Floyd County and west central Bartow County until 4:00 pm.

3:18 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for northern Haralson County and Polk County until 4:00 pm.

3:11 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for northwestern Spalding County, Fayette County, northeastern Meriwether County, eastern Coweta County, and south central Clayton County until 3:45 pm.

3:06 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Rockdale County, southern DeKalb County, northern Henry County, northeastern Clayton County, and northwestern Newton County until 3:45 pm.

2:46 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Coweta County until 3:30 pm.

2:42 pm:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for south central Carroll County, and Heard County until 3 pm.
