ATLANTA — A teenager who lost her ability to walk celebrated her recovery with a Tik Tok dance that’ll make you smile.
In early July, Zoe was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. GBS, according to the CDC website, is a rare autoimmune disorder in which a person’s own immune system damages the nerves sometimes causing paralysis.
Zoe lost her ability to walk and was admitted to Children’s Healthcare Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The doctors predicted her recovery could take up to six months, including rehab.

But Zoe had other plans. What should have taken six months was done in just sixteen days. Zoe was resilient and a hard worker, reaching milestones every day in both physical and occupational therapy.
Zoe celebrated her sweet sixteen and early recovery with a dance video on TikTok to the song “renegade”. CHOA posted the TikTok video on its website and shared it on social media. Watch it below:
