ATLANTA — Ludacris is flying high after receiving an honorary degree from Georgia State University last week.
To celebrate his new degree, Ludacris went out and bought himself a private jet, he announced on Instagram.
Ludacris, whose real name is Chris Bridges, gave a quick tour of his new jet on his Instagram with the caption, “Bought Myself A Little Graduation Gift.”

He even breaks out into the theme song of ‘The Jeffersons.’
“We’re moving on up to the east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky,” Ludacris sang while wearing a Georgia State University shirt.

Ludacris took classes at Georgia State in the early 1990s before signing with Def Jam Records.
“We are proud that Chris Bridges got his start at Georgia State,” Georgia State President M. Brian Blake said. “Our students in the Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) and College of Law have benefited from learning from his career, and we’re excited to honor him as a member of the Panther family.”

The rapper joined Georgia State’s CMII as an artist-in-residence in 2019 where he mentored students and worked with CMII professors, focusing on entrepreneurship in the music and film industries. He also worked with the College of Law on one of the first offerings of a course called “The Legal Life of …”
In 2001, he founded The Ludacris Foundation (TLF), a platform to serve youth and families in urban communities.
