ATLANTA — A man has been arrested after a 2-year-old boy shot himself in the head in an Atlanta home.
The shooting happened Saturday morning around 10 a.m. on Del Ray Drive. Police determined that the shooting was accidental and self-inflicted.
The child remains in critical condition.
On Sunday, police announced the arrest of Dontavious Wells, 31. Wells was charged with reckless conduct, theft by receiving a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and cruelty to children in the 2nd degree.
A handgun that was reported stolen last week was also recovered.
Wells’ relationship to the child is unclear. He’s been taken to Fulton County Jail.
