Teen arrested after trail of blood leads police to woman’s body

Woman killed, man injured in NW Atlanta shooting Police said a baby was found unharmed

ATLANTA — Atlanta Police have arrested a man in a double shooting that left a woman dead earlier this month.

Police responded to reports of a man shot at an Exxon on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard on June 11. The man, since identified as 19-year-old Diari Durham, had multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken the hospital in critical condition.

Officers followed a trail of blood from Durham to a nearby home on West Lake Avenue where they found a woman dead. A baby was also found in the home unharmed.

Police have identified the woman who was killed as Diamond O’Neal, 23.

On June 17, U.S. Marshals arrested 18-year-old Vorquis Williams in Chattanooga, Tennessee and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of murder.

Williams was known by the victims, police said.

The infant is in the custody of DFACS. It’s unclear who the infant’s parents were.

Durham’s current condition has not been released.
