ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating after they say a man involved in a car crash was shot after a physical altercation.

On Sunday, APD was called to William H Borders Drive near the Sweet Auburn community regarding an aggravated assault.
When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. The man, whose age and identity were not released, was taken to the hospital. Police said he’s currently stable.

According to Atlanta officials, the man lost control of his vehicle, causing him to crash into several other cars on Edgewood Avenue.
Police said after he and a passenger got out of the car, they got into a physical fight with multiple men, which led to the driver being shot.
The suspects ran away before police arrived. Police are working to learn what led up to the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
