ATLANTA — One man is dead after the Georgia State Patrol said the driver refused to stop after troopers tried to conduct a traffic stop.

Officials told Channel 2 Action News they were on I-75 northbound in Clayton County when 35-year-old Montay Stegall was seen in a Ford Fusion traveling at a high rate speed and failed to use the turn signal.
As troopers tried to stop Stegall, he continued to drive at a high speed, entered into Fulton County, and took the exit ramp to State Route 166.

It was then troopers said Stegall’s vehicle struck an embankment overturned on the road.
Stegall suffered fatal injuries. The trooper’s car was not damaged.
