ATLANTA — Atlanta police released video on Monday of a suspect they say kidnapped and robbed two women last month.

In both cases, the man also got away with hundreds of dollars.

According to the police reports, in each case, the suspect simply opened the car door and made his demands.

According to one of the victims, she had just left a hair salon on Piedmont Road, walked to her jeep, and hit the unlock button.

She told police the moment she sat down in the driver’s seat, a man opened her back passenger door and said if she screamed, he would “blow her head off.”

“We strongly believe that he is the suspect in the case. Verbal threats were made,” said Lt. Damian Crowder with the Atlanta Police Department. “(He had her) stopping at different ATMs withdrawing different amounts of money.”

The victim told police while the suspect took the cash, he became emotional and told her his name was Robert. He recently lost his job and needed money to feed his son. He told her to drop him off at a nearby gas station, and then he took off.

But just a couple of days later, another kidnapping and robbery occurred, this time at a gas station on Sydney Marcus Boulevard.

Like the previous incident, the suspect made the victim take out cash from several different ATMs before he got away.

“Scan the parking lot just to see if anyone is in the area laboring and when you enter your car, do the best you can to immediately lock the doors behind you,” was Crowder’s advice to drivers in the area.
