ATLANTA — A man covered in blood sat on an east Atlanta curb at 3 a.m. Sunday, waiting for police to arrive.
His face, head, hands and arms were bloody when police found him at the intersection of Campbell and Bixby streets, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Donald Hannah said.
Police said the man was kidnapped from his Ellenwood home by two men who beat him, took his wallet and forced him into the trunk of a gray Honda.

The men allegedly drove the victim away from his home and released him on Campbell Street, where they beat him with a bat, and one of the men shot at him five times, police said.
The Ellenwood man was not hit by gunfire, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing, police said.
