Man shot in the chest, killed in broad daylight along busy Atlanta street, police say

ATLANTA — Atlanta police are searching for a suspect they say shot and killed a man in broad daylight.

Officers were called to Boulevard NE just before 3:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon to a call of someone being shot.

On the scene, officers found a man dead from an apparent single gunshot to the chest.

Witnesses reported to police that two men were arguing when one pulled out a gun and shot the other. They said the suspect sped away from the scene in a silver Hyundai Sonata.

No further description of the suspect is available at this time, according to police.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Homicide investigators are still working to determine what led up to the fatal shooting.
