ATLANTA — A player in the drama surrounding the Atlanta City Hall corruption investigation is back in jail.
A representative for the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles told Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne that Shandarrick Barnes is in the Paulding County Jail on a parole board warrant.
The representative said Barnes was on parole for a 2010 racketeering charge and the warrant was issued for an alleged parole violation.
He said an administrative process will determine whether Barnes’ parole is revoked and he returns to prison.
Barnes' attorney Ted Salter told Winne that Barnes did not violate his parole. Salter also said he does not believe Barnes broke the state law as alleged in a recent indictment that suggests he threw a brick through the window of the home of a witness in the City Hall investigation in 2015.
Salter said he believes the addition of a new terroristic threats charge led to the parole action.
