ATLANTA — Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms released her plan to start reopening the city of Atlanta after the coronavirus shutdown.
“The reopening phases are based on milestone metrics and recent data, not arbitrary dates. If new COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue on the current downward trend, we could shift from the current Stay at Home Phase (One) and into Phase Two next week,” the mayor said in a news release Thursday night.
The mayor’s plan spans five different phases. Bottoms said Phase Two does not include reopening City Hall.

“The city will allow private, small groups of 10 or fewer to meet with social distancing requirements while keeping the necessities of cautiousness and vigilance at the forefront of city operations,” Bottoms said.
The move comes after the mayor said her advisory council, made up of 60 people with diverse backgrounds, submitted their recommendations on how to reopen the city safely and gradually.
The city has made a reopening dashboard for people to look at the metrics that the city is using to make decisions about what to reopen.
