Metro Atlanta’s iconic restaurant known for its ‘Ghetto Burger’ closes its doors after 51 years

ATLANTA — The world-famous Ann’s Snack Bar will not be re-opening after shutting down during the pandemic.

The Wall Street Journal named the “Ghetto Burger” the best burger in America in 2007.

The restaurant was an Atlanta institution known for its burger.

Ann Price — better known to her customers as Miss Ann — opened the doors to her restaurant in the early 1970s.

In 2010, the New York Times reported that Ann’s Snack Bar was listed for sale for $1.5 million. “People come here from all over the world, people from every race,” Price told the Times. “Everybody wants to know: what is a Ghetto Burger?”

Price passed away in April 2015. She was 72.

The building on Memorial Drive is up for sale with a price tag of $650,000.
