ATLANTA — School officials are conducting a search of Midtown High School in Atlanta after a bomb threat was made Monday morning.
Channel 2 Action News received an email that was sent to parents by Principal Dr. Betsy Bockman.

According to Bockman, staff and students have been moved to Piedmont Park for the duration of the search.
According to Seth Coleman with Atlanta Public Schools Office of Communications & Public Engagement, the bomb threat was called in at about 9 a.m. Atlanta Public Schools Police and K-9 units from several of its law enforcement partners are conducting a thorough sweep of the building and campus.

Parents are discouraged from coming to the school as this week’s early dismissal schedule remains in effect.
Students and staff are safe, Coleman said.
Police gave the “all clear” and students returned to their classrooms during the noon hour.
