More than 90% of U.S. now at low or medium COVID-19 risk. Here’s how Georgia stacks up

ATLANTA — The majority of Georgia is now at low or medium risk for being infected with COVID-19, according to new data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The majority of metro Atlanta counties are in low-risk zones, though Cobb, Cherokee, Douglas and Paulding counties remain medium risk.

On Friday, Cobb County ended their COVID-19 emergency, which had been in place since 2020.

Some parts of far south Georgia are still at a high risk, including the areas around Albany and far southeast Georgia.

New cases of the virus have fallen 57% in Georgia in the last 14 days and deaths have dropped 21%.

As of March 3, more than 90% of the U.S. population is in a location with low or medium COVID-19 community transmission.

Orange = High Risk

Yellow = Medium Risk
