ATLANTA — A murder warrant has been issued for a Massachusetts Institute of Technology student who may be in metro Atlanta.
Police said the New Haven Police Department has secured a murder warrant with a $5 million bond against Qinxuan Pan, 29.
Police believe Pan, who is from Massachusetts, shot and killed Yale student Kevin Jiang in New Haven, Connecticut, on Feb. 6.

Pan was previously identified as a person of interest but has since been named the murder suspect.
According to the family, Pan’s last known whereabouts is in Georgia.
“According to family, Pan was carrying a black backpack and acting strange,” U.S. Marshals said.
The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force said Pan should be considered armed and dangerous.
