ATLANTA — The mother of a 6-month-old boy who was killed after being caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting says she wanted the killer caught so bad she “can taste it.”

Atlanta police announced an arrest just hours later Tuesday.

Grayson Matthew Fleming-Gray was killed Monday after someone shot into the car he was riding in with his mother on Anderson Avenue.

Channel 2′s Tom Jones went back to the scene Tuesday where he caught up with the child’s mother, Kerri Gray.

She told Jones that her son was a gift and referred to him as a “rainbow baby” because she had him at age 39, and was Grayson the light of her life.

“My son’s blood is on your hands,” Gray said was her message to the killers. “He was the collateral damage of a drive-by.”

Jones asked Gray to talk about the moments the shooting happened.

“Everything happened so fast. I’m not sure if it went around us, if it went to the left of us. All I know is I was trying to pull into this parking lot,” Gray said. “I went to check on him after hearing a certain noise and he was slumped over, and the bullet had gone right through him.”

Gray said her son was very intelligent and was just learning how to crawl.

“He was drinking out of cups at 6-months-old. Cups, regular cups. He would look at a toy and he would analyze it. He wouldn’t just pick it up and play with it,” Gray said. “I woke up this morning expecting to give my son his bottle. I now have to pick up his clothes and his toys and figure out how to move on with my life without hearing his smile and his laugh.”

“He came out a fighter he came out with problems. He came out at five pounds and already had issues with his belly and everything else and he caught up like that, because that’s what he does. He was a fighter,” Gray said about her son. “I can’t even get his blood off my hands.”

Anyone who may have information in this case, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.

Grayson’s family has set up a fundraiser to help pay for his funeral expenses.
