ATLANTA — The “Happiest Place on Earth” is going to remain in Florida, despite what online reports say.

Snopes.com started looking into the claims that Disney was looking to relocate to the Atlanta area and concluded that the article being circulated on Medium.com was a work of fiction.

“The new park in Atlanta will reportedly feature many of the same beloved attractions and characters as the current Disney World, but with a few new additions tailored to the Atlanta area. For example, visitors can look forward to a new ‘Gone with the Wind’ ride, a ‘Coca-Cola World’ exhibit, and an ‘Atlanta Braves’ baseball experience,” The article said.

“A ‘parody’ tag was attached to the bottom of the Medium post, an indication that its author intended its contents to be read as such,” Snopes said.

Despite the tag, the post has been spreading on Facebook and Twitter like it’s actual news. Snopes reports that there have been no official statements or confirmations from the company or the state saying that Disney is relocating.

The claim comes as a public feud between Disney and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to heat up, fueling speculation about Disney’s future endeavors in the state.

But for now, Mickey Mouse and the rest of the Disney gang will remain Florida residents.
