ATLANTA — Atlanta police say they are investigating a shooting incident involving one of their own police officers.
Police told Channel 2 Action News that officers were investigating someone wanted for a possible armed robbery along Campbellton Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday, when the suspect and another person started running from police.

Officers said they were able to detain one of the suspects, but another hopped into a black pickup truck and started driving toward at least one of the officers.
That’s when investigators said the officer opened fire. It is unclear at this time if the suspect was hit.
