ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating an early morning carjacking on Marietta Street just north of downtown Atlanta that resulted in a man being shot.

According to police, the carjacking happened around 5:30 a.m. at 584 Marietta St. which is just south of the intersection with North Avenue.
Officers said the shooting victim and a woman were parked in a vehicle on Marietta Street when two suspects approached and carjacked them.
Police said one suspect shot the man, jumped into the vehicle and drove away. Police believe the second suspect ran away on foot.

At this time, police haven’t released a description of the suspects. The shooting victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
