ATLANTA — A pedestrian was killed Thursday night by a Georgia Department of Transportation Highway Emergency Response Operator truck.
Georgia State Patrol said troopers received reports of a crash on Interstate 75/85 South near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Atlanta.

According to the investigation, a GDOT HERO truck was driving on Interstate 75/85 South when it hit a pedestrian standing in the road.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear why the victim was standing in the road and if the driver will face charges.
The identities of the victim and driver have not been revealed.
