At around 7:15 p.m., APD said it arrived to the fast food restaurant on Martin Luther King Jr. and found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Before the shooting took place, police said the victim and suspect went inside the Chick-fil-A and ordered items. According to the police, the shooting happened while the victim was in the car with the suspect and three other passengers as they were leaving the location.
Chick-fil-A’s website lists the location as “temporarily closed due to unforeseen issues”. Channel 2 Action News is unable to confirm whether this closure is due to the shooting.
The suspect shot the victim inside the car and took off on foot, police said.
