ATLANTA — Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a local nightclub in southwest Atlanta.
It happened just before 3 a.m Friday at Lacura Bar and Bistro on Metropolitan Parkway.
Police said an altercation inside the bar led the manager and a security employee to escort a man out.
When they got outside, the man opened fire, police said, shooting both the manager and the security guard.
The manager, who police identified as 51-year-old Melvin Allison, died at the scene.
The security guard and another person who was shot are stable and are expected to recover, police said.

Allison’s family said his nickname was “Rat” and he will be greatly missed.
“We’ll come together as a family. It hurts right now but we have more love than hate,” his aunt, Yvonne White, said.
Allison's loved ones hugged one another when they showed up to find out what had happened.
“He shouldn't have gotten killed like that, they took his life for nothing,” said Willie Harrie, the Allison’s cousin.
Alonzo Ross said he's the owner of the bar and he and Allison were like brothers.
“He talked to everybody, he tried to stop a lot of trouble from going,” Ross said.
One person of interest is being interviewed by detectives.
The business is considering changes to its already strict security measures.
