ATLANTA — Atlanta police said a shootout inside a southwest Atlanta store has left a man dead and several others injured.
Investigators said they were called out to 1576 Joseph E. Boone Boulevard shortly before 4:15 p.m. for a report of several people shot.
Officers said a fight started inside a store between two women. About 10 minutes after that fight, police said a red Dodge pulled up to the store and that three men with guns got out, went into the store and then started shooting.
That’s when people inside the store started shooting back, police said. The shootout spilled out into the streets, and people continued shooting at each other as they ran from the store, officers said.
In total, police said they found four people injured at the store.
“All persons that were located by officers were alert and breathing and conscious. We transported them out to the hospital rather quickly,” said Officer Anthony Grant with the Atlanta Police Department.

A man found outside that store later died from his injuries.
Two additional gunshot victims involved in that incident were later found at 345 Lanier Avenue Northwest and 276 Morris Brown Avenue Northwest.
Officers at the scene said a total of four adults and two juveniles were injured. The juveniles are said to be in their early teens.
Grant said one of the juveniles injured needed surgery.
“We don’t know the ages at this time. I do know they have been transported to (Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston) Hospital,” Grant said. “We got them in the hospital, and they immediately went into surgery for their injuries.”
That juvenile remains in critical condition at last check.
Investigators said there have been no arrests at this time, but they are still questioning witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the store.
