Princella Eppes, 22, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in her Inman Park apartment in 1990. This week, the city of Atlanta announced a $10,000 reward for any tips leading to an arrest.

Eppes had moved from Massachusetts to Atlanta just a week before she was killed.

On Tuesday, Channel 2 Investigative Reporter Ashli Lincoln talked to Eppes’ sisters, who were visiting the Earle Apartments on North Highland Avenue where Eppes took her last breath more than three decades earlier. They said seeing the apartment again was tough.

“Unbelievable. I’m facing a fear today, Kim Beasley said. “I haven’t been here in 34 years because I’ve avoided this part of the city. I’m proud to be here in honor of our sister as we continue to seek justice for her.”

Ebony Joy Eppes-Nails said that a maintenance worker found her sister dead inside her unit.

“What were her last steps?” Eppes-Nails wondered. “When we got the news, it was devastating.”

The sisters described Eppes to Project Cold Case as a talented artist who went by the nickname “Ladybird.”

Eppes-Nails encouraged anyone with information, however small, to come forward.

“Every clue helps,” Eppes-Nails said. “We’re trying to get to the bottom of what happened to our sister.

The Eppes sisters said police are bringing in another agency to do some DNA testing.

“We’re hopeful we will get something,” Eppes-Nails said.

A billboard will be erected in midtown advertising the CrimeStoppers reward. Anyone with information can call CrimeStoppers at 404-577-TIPS and remain anonymous.
