ATLANTA — After missing for nearly a month, a dog was returned to its family this week.
Puck the Pug was stolen from his family’s car last month in Buckhead. They’d only left their car for a minute to go inside a store at Buckhead Village for food. When they returned, their window was smashed, and their beloved Pug was gone.

“We got him back, three weeks to the day. I didn’t give up hope,” said Marc Castillo.
Three weeks ago, Castillo told WSB Tonight’s Larry Spruill when Puck was stolen; they had just left Fetch Dog Park in Buckhead Village. They put the dog in the truck to grab some food nearby. Within minutes, someone broke into his car and stole Puck.
He made a plea on Channel 2 Action News, “Puck has heart conditions. He’s on two different medications. He won’t do well without them. If the people who took him see this, please drop him off at a PAWS or Animal Shelter.”

Castillo said he got lots of calls, but one call stood out.
“The Good Samaritan reached out. He didn’t have the dog, but he knew where it was,” Castillo told Spruill. “So we made arrangements to buy the dog back from the person who bought him. That young man went and bought the dog back and Facetimed us and reunited us with him. The criminals sold him for $100. It was quick money to them, but for us, he’s a family member.”
Castillo said the heartache and stress cost him a lot more.

“For $100, these criminals did so much damage and so much hurt to so many people,” he told Spruill.
Although, Castillo is glad his dog is back home. He has this message for the people who took him, “I just wish that they would just think through their actions and understand, the repercussions are just so much bigger than a quick $100 grab.”
Police are investigating the case.
