ATLANTA — A competitive motorcycle racer said his equipment was stolen before a big event in Atlanta.
Michael Aycock said he went to check on his racing trailer in the parking lot of Castleberry Inn around 4 a.m. Saturday and it was gone.
"The locks were cut off and pulled out and abandoned in some other parts of Atlanta," he said.
Aycock is from Florida and is in town for a Supercross racing event at the Georgia Dome this weekend. He planned to compete on Sunday.
"It'll be the last time you get to ride in the Georgia Dome and it just sucks that I won't get to be a part of it," he said.

Aycock said a social media post by an Orlando-area powersports dealer led to an alert that equipment was found along River Ridge Drive in East Atlanta Saturday afternoon.
His bike was gone and the trailer was damaged.
"The wheels are off it. The back door is broken and it's just in a mess right now," Aycock said.
He says he's out nearly $20,000 worth of equipment. He said his insurance should cover the damage.
"It sucks because people have dreams and hopes to do certain things and just because of a selfish act, people don't get to fulfill them," Aycock said.
He said he hopes security camera footage will show what happened.
