ATLANTA — Some people saw a wet snow mix Friday morning but most woke up to cold, dreary weather.
The change-over from rain to snow happened early Friday morning.
A Winter Storm Warning has been downgraded to a winter weather advisory for most areas in Georgia.
The winter weather threat has forced Towns County schools to go virtual Friday and Fannin County is closed.

Here’s what to know:
- 2 to 3 inches of snow possible in higher elevations of north Georgia
- Slippery roads possible in the mountains
- Much of metro Atlanta will see just cold rain.

The winter storm warning continues for the higher elevations of Rabun County, but has been downgraded to a winter weather advisory through the rest of the mountains until 7pm.
