ATLANTA — Crews cleaned up after a tornado touched down Thursday at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz confirmed the news Friday.
The EF-0 tornado, with winds of 75 to 85 mph, caused some damage near the north cargo facilities shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday.
Several FedEx cargo bins were tossed onto the roof of a cargo building. The National Weather Service said the tornado stayed on the ground for about 200 yards.
No one was injured. An airport spokesman said some flights were delayed.
A tornado warning for parts of Gwinnett and DeKalb counties was issued late Thursday evening after a radar-indicated tornado was spotted.

After Friday, things will return to normal for this time of year with sunshine and temperatures in the low 70s for your weekend.
Starting Saturday, clouds will clear out and the day will start in the 40s. Saturday will be mostly sunny throughout the day with high temperatures close to the 70s. There is a 20 percent chance of scattered showers Saturday evening, said Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz.
Sunday will be sunny with temperatures in the 70's and temperatures will reach up to about 80 degrees by midweek next week.
