And it’s not just homes and businesses in DeKalb County.

It’s as if downed trees and power lines throughout the better part of the day Friday and part of Saturday morning weren’t enough. A homeowner sent pictures of water leaking from the ceiling of their home on Rocky Ridge Boulevard in Douglasville — and they’re not alone.
“The water started running through the house,” neighbor Latosha Shivers said. “First it was in the living room, then it went from room to room. Then it started pouring like it was storming outside.”
Shivers showed Channel 2 Action News where water poured from the ceiling of her apartment home in Vinings, as she prepared brunch on Saturday.
Water streamed into her apartment and formed icicles. Shivers told Channel 2 Action News that she and eight other neighbors were affected by the pipe damage.
She has family in town for the Christmas holiday. Now, she is left in the cold with no heat and water.

“Oh, my Christmas is ruined. I have family here from out of town. Me hosting that’s not an option now,” she said.
Over in southwest Atlanta, about a dozen or so homes are without electricity.
Georgia Power says these families are part of the group of customers who lost power early on Saturday morning.
This comes after more than 250,000 customers had their power restored after Friday’s windstorms.
Georgia Power is working to restore the lights and heat to the affected homes, closer to midnight.
