Reward increased to $10,000 to find man wanted for questioning in Yale student’s death

ATLANTA — US Marshals are now offering a $10,000 to find a person of interest in the murder of a Yale student who they say could be in Georgia.

Qinxuan Pan, 29, is being sought for questioning in the death of Yale University student Kevin Jiang, which happened in New Haven, Connecticut on Feb. 6.

Pan is from Massachusetts but may have traveled to Duluth, Marshals said. He is an MIT graduate student. He was last seen at a Best Western hotel in North Haven, CT.

“Pan was last seen in the early morning hours on Feb. 11 driving with family members in Brookhaven or Duluth, Georgia. According to family, Pan was carrying a black backpack and acting strange,” the US Marshal Service said.

Pan is currently charged with one count of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and interstate theft of vehicle.

The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force said Pan should be considered armed and dangerous.
