“This was one of the biggest rip-offs I’ve seen,” Reggie Nelson, who attended the concert told Channel 2′s Tom Jones. “Everybody feels like they’ve been ripped off. A lot of people got up to leave before things were done.”

Nelson is still extremely bothered by the Old School Concert, and says he wants a refund because it was such a disaster.

People who left the concert early said the event was disorganized and they did not get what they were promised when they bought their tickets.

They say the concert began two hours late and lesser known performers took up a lot of time on stage.

“My girlfriend came back from getting her drink she was like who are all these random acts we’re listening to,” Nelson said.

Acts who were not scheduled to perform took the stage. Many in the crowd started booing when Johnny Gill, who was part of New Edition, came on stage and said he would not be performing.

“They must have said Johnny we don’t have all your money, but we will give you something if you just go out and say hi to the crowd,” said Cheryl Shiver who was in the audience.

People also complained about long lines to get food and drinks, which vendors also ran out of. There were also long lines at the restrooms.

Shiver says people should get their money back, but she doubts it will happen.

“We’re not getting any money back,” she said.

Channel 2 Action News reached out to the concert’s promoter, SEMG, to get a statement, but they have not yet responded to requests.
