Southern Living names best BBQ restaurant in Georgia

ATLANTA — The barbeque scene continues to grow throughout the South and according to Southern Living, some of the best barbecue you can get is right here in metro Atlanta.

“Popular independent restaurants are now expanding to multiple locations, and some are building sprawling multi-state empires. All the while, plenty of old-school classics have kept plugging right along, maintaining the distinctive styles of their own regions—styles they helped define decades ago,” the magazine said.

Making this year’s list of “The South’s Best Barbecue Joint In Every State 2023,” is Atlanta’s Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q.

Fox Bros. is known across the metro for having some of the best barbeques around, and Southern Living’s readers agreed.

“Twin brothers Jonathan and Justin Fox blend the traditions of their native Texas with the flavors of their adopted home state of Georgia. The result is “Atlanta style” barbecue, in which slow-smoked prime brisket and jalapeño sausage mingle with pulled pork and bowls of Brunswick stew on the broad menu. There are plenty of creative mashups, too, like tater tots smothered in brisket chili and “chicken fried” ribs with white BBQ sauce,” the magazine said.
