ATLANTA — Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said Saturday that he has let go Atlanta Watershed Commissioner Jo Ann Macrina.

William Johnson, the city’s deputy chief operating officer, will be the interim commissioner, Reed said in a media release.

Sources say Macrina was let go Friday because of a number of management missteps and questionable international travel.

Macrina came to the city of Atlanta from DeKalb County, where she was deputy director of the county watershed management.

She replaced Rob Hunter, who stepped down from the watershed department amid thousands of complaints from residents and businesses about billing and inaccurate readings.
