ATLANTA — Police say a bizarre crime spree began with a carjacking and shooting in Dekalb County, and ended two hours later in northwest Atlanta with another shooting.
"Two gentlemen carjacked a taxi cab driver and shot him," Capt. Cliff Johnson with the Atlanta Police Department told Channel 2's Audrey Washington.
According to a DeKalb County police report, a taxi driver was shot in the face and carjacked on Bouldercrest Road Tuesday morning.
The driver survived, but the two suspects took off in his cab and headed for James Jackson Parkway in northwest Atlanta.
That's where police say the two rammed a BMW I-8.
"She pulls over. The suspects begin firing at her multiple times," Johnson said.
Police say while the $136,000 BMW sat riddled with bullets, the driver ran into the woods and got away uninjured.

But the suspects didn't stop there. They then attempted to carjack another man on Peyton Road.
"At this point, it appears that the suspect approached the vehicle fired multiple times, striking that driver multiple times and then both suspects fled the area," Johnson said.
Police say a short time later, they were able to find one suspect at the scene.
That person was found shot several times and was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital. He is stable.
The cab driver and the man shot on Peyton Road are both in critical condition.
The second suspect ran off.
"This is still very fluid. We're still trying to get stories from multiple scenes," Johnson said.
Police are still interviewing potential witnesses.
