ATLANTA — The man accused of kidnapping and shooting a bartender as she got home from work last week is now in the Fulton County Jail.
Investigators released a new mug shot Tuesday of DeMarcus Brinkley after he was booked in around 3:45 p.m.
Brinkley had previously been in a hospital in Spalding County after crashing his car while running from police, investigators said.
Brinkley Is accused of kidnapping and killing Mariam Abdulrab, 27, on Friday morning.

Abdulrab was found shot to death early Friday off Lakewood Avenue. Friends told Channel 2 Action News she left her bartending job at Revery VR bar in midtown early Friday morning.
Her boyfriend reported seeing her being forced into a car in front of her home in Chosewood Park around 5 a.m.
“My girlfriend just got out of a car and somebody just came and kidnapped her and left,” Jerry Antoine said during the 911 call released on Tuesday. “I just watched her get kidnapped from in front of my house!”
Antoine said the man was wearing a security shirt and kidnapped her at gunpoint.
Minutes before, Abdulrab had called Antoine to tell him she was close to his Burroughs Street home in southeast Atlanta. She never made it inside.

Hours later, another man called 911 after seeing a woman’s body facedown on the ground off Lakewood Avenue.
Brinkley was arrested after a chase and crash in Griffin that afternoon.
He is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of or attempt of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
Brinkley had previously spent seven years in prison.
In October 2011, Brinkley, then 17, was arrested and charged with solicitation for an illegal sex act, according to police reports obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In 2012, while a student at South Atlanta High School, Brinkley was accused of stealing a teacher’s iPod, according to police.

In July 2012, a woman told investigators that Brinkley had raped her daughter, who was approximately 7, a police report states. In November 2013, another woman told police she caught Brinkley — who she knew only as her brother’s friend “Pimp” — trying to rape her 5-year-old daughter.
One week later, Brinkley was arrested and charged with aggravated child molestation, child molestation, criminal attempt to commit rape and first-degree cruelty to children, records show. It would be the last time he was a free man until November 2020, records show.
Police have not said whether they believe Brinkley knew Abdulrab.
A GoFundMe page set up to help her family had raised nearly $40,000 by Tuesday afternoon.
