ATLANTA — The search is on for three members of a criminal gang just indicted for a string of armed robberies, carjackings and murders.

Two of the three are out on bond for armed robbery.

In some of the crimes, investigators told Channel 2's Tom Regan the suspects used a gun with a large barrel-shaped ammunition clip. The choice of weapon has given them their nickname, "The Drum Gun Killers."

"Its' a device that allows him to hold extra shots, about 100 extra shots," said District Attorney Paul Howard.

The trio is accused of shooting and killing a man in his friend's driveway in southwest Atlanta.

"It's heart wrenching that someone as young as 15 would be involved in incidents that are so serious, not just robberies but killing people in our community," Howard said.

Howard said the gang murdered two people and terrorized others in 14 armed robberies across southwest Atlanta early last year.

Investigators said they carjacked three vehicles and targeted victims in neighborhoods as they returned home from work.

"I don't think there's anything worse that could happen to somebody in our community than to get robbed at gunpoint leaving your car in your driveway," Howard said.

Two of the four members were released last year after being charged with one of the armed robberies. Another, Mike Washington, known as "Little Mike," is still at large.

Howard said they must caught before they can commit more crimes.

"It is clear that he is armed and he is dangerous," Howard said.
