ATLANTA — Someone hit and killed a teen as he was walked from his house to a store and now his family wants justice.
"He just had a birthday on March 1. He just turned 18," a family member said.
Kimonte Vincent's family is devastated.
The fatal crash happened Friday morning around 9 when Vincent left his home on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta and walked to a nearby store with his cousin Dominique Holcomb.
"My cousin, he stopped to adjust his shoe and as he was coming back, I just heard a boom. The truck knocked him on the ground," Holcomb said.
He said he was right beside his cousin, could not believe someone hit and killed him, and then took off.

"I was shocked. My first thing was to stop all cars that was coming making sure no one ran over him. The only person who didn’t pull over to the side was the driver that initially did the hitting, he kept going," Holcomb said.
Police told me the driver admitted he left the scene but he told police he came back on his own.
The victim's family said that’s not true.
They said he only came back because a witness, who was driving a truck for Comcast, chased him down.
Fernandes spoke to that witness on the phone. He said he chased the driver down Campbellton Road about a mile, he pulled up to him, let him know he saw the crash and took down his license plate.
He said that’s when the driver returned to the scene.
"That’s what hurt me the most because he’s lying and that shows no remorse," Holcomb said.
