Tickets to Chris Rock’s show at the Fox Theatre sell out after Oscars slap

Los Angeles — Chris Rock’s stand-up tour has seen a boost in ticket sales after Will Smith slapped the comedian on live television during Sunday night’s Oscars.

The incident unfolded after Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith Sunday night, stunning the crowd.

Since the “slap heard round the world,” Rock has sold out his Atlanta show, which is scheduled at the Fox Theatre on July 29.

Before Sunday, tickets to the show ranged from around $50 to $135.

TickPick, another secondary ticketing marketplace, tweeted that it sold more Chris Rock tickets overnight than they had in the past month combined.

Rock’s “Ego Death” comedy tour is set to hit more than 30 cities and ends, ironically, at the same theatre where audiences witnessed the “slap heard round the world,” the Dolby Theatre.
