ATLANTA — Hurricane Ida is now Tropical Storm Ida as it moves inland Monday. Georgia will see some impacts from the storm.
Ida will make landfall Sunday afternoon as a powerful category 4 hurricane.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said Georgia will see impacts from Ida Tuesday and Wednesday.
Here’s what you need to know:
- The level 1 risk is for counties in western areas of north Georgia and metro Atlanta Monday
- The severe weather risk goes up to Level 2 on Tuesday
- Heavy rain and damaging wind gusts are possible with the storms
- Isolated, brief tornadoes can’t be ruled out
Isolated, brief tornadoes can quickly spin-up in the bands of storms around Ida. We have that risk locally beginning this evening and throughout Tuesday. pic.twitter.com/iX201j5aVH
