Officers said they found a man shot once in the head and he was pronounced dead inside the station.
Police say they are still looking for the shooter.
Channel 2′s Veronica Griffin spoke with the victim’s sister on WSB Tonight at 11 p.m.
The victim’s name has still not been released, but the victim’s sister spoke with Griffin. She said he was on a train headed home and they rushed to the Ashby station after too much time had passed.
One Atlanta resident, Jeremy Bell, was shocked and upset upon hearing the news about the deadly shooting. It’s the bus stop he uses for his trip to and from work.
He said something needs to be done about the violence.
“We really need to do something to get guns off the street and keep our community safe,” said Bell.
The sister waited nearby for investigators to confirm what they had been fearing all along that her brother was the young man who had been shot and killed.
Police have not released details on what led up to the shooting.
