ATLANTA — Atlanta Police proved once again that car thieves are no match for them.
Video from an Atlanta Police helicopter shows officers tracking a man in a stolen car via air before he crashes the car and officers arrest him.
The incident happened Jan. 5 in northwest Atlanta

The video shows a black BMW SUV speeding through busy traffic, at times dodging other cars or driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic.

- All the while, a helicopter is following the car and giving its location to officers on the ground.
Video shows the suspect eventually spin out and crash the SUV into a telephone pole. He then runs from the car as officers on the ground arrive at the scene.

The video switches infrared mode as the suspect runs into the woods, tumbles and then gets up and continues running with officers just behind him.
He eventually surrenders.
Atlanta police have not identified the suspect or said what charges he is facing, but did say he had a stolen handgun.
