ATLANTA — While families all over Georgia are getting ready for Christmas, some parents may have to spend the holiday in the hospital.
Channel 2′s Linda Stouffer shows us how some children in the hospital were virtually transported to a special place.
Atlanta tech company Trick 3D and Seacrest Studios brought the “Jolliest Elf” virtual reality experience to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

“Seeing Santa and visiting the north pole for the first time. It’s been really fun to watch them,” senior coordinator of volunteer services Gabbi Markle said.
Parents got to watch in wonder on big screen televisions as their children moved into a high-tech winter wonderland.
“It was really cool, really detailed. You could see the sleigh... you could see everything around,” parent Grant Eckles said.

Tamiya Blassingame has a rare blood condition and left her hospital room for the first time in days for this trip to the North Pole.
She asked Santa for a motorized scooter for Christmas.
“It’s nice to have something outside the room to put a smile on her face,” Tamiya’s mother, Natasha Blassingame, said.

The teams at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta try to get as many children as possible home for Christmas.
But as always, they’ll be on the job caring for children 24 hours a day.
