METRO ATLANTA — The volatile weather of March let itself be heard on Saturday as northwest Georgia saw some rain, snow and some strong winds that left residents cold and sometimes wet.
Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach found a tree that crashed down across Howell Mill Road near Wesley Way just before 5 a.m. Saturday. Police had to mark off the road with crime scene tape and reroute traffic around the closed road.

City of Atlanta crews also had their hands full trying to get a large tree out of the road on Howard Circle between McClendon Avenue and DeKalb Avenue in the Candler Park neighborhood. Gehlbach said the large tree took out some nearby powerlines leaving several thousand area residents without power during the bitterly cold morning.
